As a Nerds Ropes lover, I approve of this color.
The cupcake is AMAZING, and the smoke outfit is so creative (although impractical). All of these interesting, unusual outfits are cool but would be more fun if they could be worn with other customization items rather than taking up all the primary zones.

Candy Gelert:
Looks like someone on the art team likes the new Nerd Gummy Clusters. 
I'm kind of mixed, I like the idea, but not sure about both the presentation and the Neopet chosen. Sadly Kiko and Jubjub have already been done and they would have been the perfect choice. However, I notice Chia still needs Candy so think they could have saved it for them. As for what candy I would have made the Gelert, well I was thinking licorice but than they did licorice for the Eyrie. I suppose they could have done the Twizzlers's Pull & Peel version (they could have also made it a combination of different colors).
Well, we're given what we get, and while I would have liked more candy covering, I also thank them for making the candy pieces wearable parts so they can be removed and placed on other Gelerts.
Smoke Gelert:
Ugh, if smoke is coming from your eyes you may want to see a doctor.
I don't care for it, I feel it's a bit too overdone and would be hard to see.

Immediately recognizing the gelert as a nerds rope was enough for me. I like it! And I like the candy scattered on the ground, that's a nice subtle little change. Love these candy colors much more than the typical old swirl style.

Is it just me, or has there been an uptick lately in outfits that are essentially paint brush clothes without actually *being* a PB colour? I could easily see the smoke outfit being expanded as a full colour option, honestly

The candy bits are at least wearable, so base colour is interesting.
As for outfit,I'll just leave this year

The smoke, to me, looks weird. If you like it, props to you. To me it looks like there is either too much smoke, or not enough. Having a smoke entity Gelert could be cool, but it doesn't quite look right to me. Maybe it's because of the weird direction of the smoke coming from the ears? And why does this canine need claws? Those look weird as well. Move those claw-bits a couple of centimeters to the left and have them as toe-contours instead

galifan - the only ones I know about are Turkish Delight and Pocky. OMG Pocky! I discovered those on a trip to Vancouver over a decade ago from friends there who told me about it and I an still a fan. Thank goodness it is widely available in the US grocery stores now, or at least down South anyway

Looking at all the Biscuit pets remaining, the best bet for there to be an "exceptional-design Biscuit" would be the Ogrin, the Blumaroo, the Moehog or the Vandagyre!
Flotsams, Peophins and Lutari are aquatic/semi aquatic pets, so the shortbread would disintegrate. (Yes, I'm ignoring the fact that the Jetsam and Koi come in Biscuit.)

My Gelerts are all standing with their noses in corners of the rooms.
Cuddling the too-realistic Gelert-head picks from the cupcakes.
A couple are eying the smoke clouds with curious dread.
It could have been Chinese blown sugar. A Western sugar mold. Royal frosting. A mosaic of tiny hard candies. A giant, shiny hard candy. White chocolate with pastel trim--even in decor bits.
Still, its treated like a Color and an outfit. The Color is... a nice shade of Irish Setter, maybe. If Brown and Christmas met one day....
